Services
In-home services and community-based services are available in the Boston area. Services are also available via tele-health across the state of Massachusetts. I typically work with children who are between the ages of 3 and 12. Services may focus on supporting the following areas:

Speech
Articulation, speech-sound error patterns, phonological disorders, motor speech disorders (e.g., childhood apraxia of speech)

Language
Expressive and receptive language, includes speaking and listening comprehension

Fluency
Stuttering and related difficulties with words getting “stuck”, may include atypical disfluencies

Social Communication
Language in social contexts

Literacy
Language difficulties can impact reading and writing skills

AAC
Augmentative and alternative communication can support people who may not have reliable access to speaking words
Assessment
A comprehensive assessment is conducted to determine current speech, language, and communication skills. I approach evaluations from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective. I seek to understand and support each client as they are, instead of comparing them to “typical development”. My approach minimizes the reliance on standardized assessments, which can sometimes be misleading, inaccurate, or otherwise problematic. Instead, I use the most current research to inform my selection of assessments, and only use those that are valid and appropriate for each client. I prioritize an individualized, holistic assessment of a child’s communication abilities, which often provides a richer, more accurate understanding of their strengths and needs. Assessment reports include treatment recommendations, which can be shared with school-based providers.
Therapy
Therapy is tailored to foster self-expression, build confidence, and improve functional communication in both social and academic settings. My approach is informed by the principles of evidence-based practice, and can be described as play-based, strength-based, and naturalistic. I focus on child autonomy and self-expression, ensuring that each child’s unique voice is heard and respected. I collaborate closely with both the child and their caregivers to create naturalistic opportunities for language enrichment, integrating communication into everyday routines and activities. In addition, I focus on teaching self-advocacy skills that empower autistic children to fully be themselves.
Parent Coaching & Education
Coaching and education services are designed to empower parents with the knowledge and skills needed to support their child’s communication development and neurodivergent identity. Services also include education on autistic communication styles and disability advocacy.
Consultation
Consultations for Parents / Caregivers
Receive expert advice and support for a variety of needs, including second opinions on existing diagnoses and treatment plans. As a former school-based SLP, I also offer support in developing and reviewing Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 plans to ensure appropriate accommodations and support in educational settings. The aim is to offer tailored, evidence-based recommendations to best support your child’s communication development.
Consultations for Professionals (SLPs, OTs, PTs, psychotherapists)
These consultations offer expert insight into better understanding and serving your neurodivergent clients. Learn how developmental disabilities are affecting your clients and how you can best support them and communicate with them, in order to improve treatment plans, strategies, and interventions.
